Dr. Christine English O'Connor


Christine English O'Connor was raised in the world of optometry, working throughout her youth at her fathers small town optometric practice in Michigan. After high school, she attended Michigan State University in E. Lansing for undergraduate studies She later graduated from Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 1991. After residency training at the Baltimore VAMC on the east coast she and her husband, Dr. James O'Connor, relocated to Texas for his career at the VAMC here in Amarillo.

Dr. Christine English O'Connor is licensed as both a therapeutic and optometric glaucoma specialist. She enjoys the challenge of complicated contact lens fittings. During her career she has served as a proctor for the American Optometric Board of Examiners on multiple occasions, and has written and refereed optometric publications. She has provided eye care for the children at Boys Ranch as well as providing eye care at the Clements Unit through Texas Tech University. Dr. Christine English O'Connor has had the priviledge of working with Dr. Paul Munden, MD for the past ten years prior to his retirement of his private clinic.

Blessed with a church family at Saint Paul UMC, she has been able to achieve many great goals. She has been on several mission trips to Central America to help the local communities. Dr. O'Connor also helps run a free eye care clinic called His Vision in downtown Amarillo with the Amarillo Downtown Lions Club. Her most important task to date is the raising of her two beautiful sons, Jacob and Justin, whom are the center of her heart.
